MY HOPELESS DREAM BY Nassirou Fidyah Atinuke
_“I am sorry, he lost his spinal cord”_ ,The doctor said,
This brought change to a colourful world,
Crying was his only option on the sick bay,
Engulfed with many thought,so this is how I will end up,
I will no longer move with my two legs,
An accident of few minutes changed my life entirely, concluded as been hopeless.
I became a stranger to my legs, they acted as if they never knew me,
They stayed stagnant and refuse to move,
I wish I could prove the doctor wrong by moving my legs,
_Betrayal or the will of God ?_
I was forced learning to wheel the chair i never wished to,
And I was unable to drive the car of my dream desire,
The undesired became an intimate friend.
Saddest moments of my life, I could vividly remember,
Days I felt reluctant and trying to give up,
Days I cry alone in my room with the consent of no one,
Poisoning was always the best idea to me,
Days I became hopeless towards my dream,
Days I was ungrateful by blaming my Creator,
Days harmful wishes were like a solution to everything.
Luckily for me, I have the best families ever,
Mother stayed with me and promised to always make me happy,
Siblings never deny my smile and Stayed with me all through,
Friends do their best and stayed with me through hard times,
Friends contributed in their own way also,
Then I realised that tears would never solve the issue,
_“When there is life there is hope”_ became my day to day thought
Surprisingly, my hopeless dream turned hopeful,
I graduated from school as the best student in the class,
I got the job of my heart desire without discrimination,
I was happily married to the best woman ever,
And turned to be the happiest man I had wanted.
*NOTE* :
Never think you can never make it because you are crippled,
Even when people mock and call you feeble,
Smile, and say to them that “I am physically able”
Drop from that _“hopeless bus”_ and board the one of _“Must make it no matter what”_
Burry the harmful intuition that your dream can't be fulfilled
*YOUR DREAM IS YOUR DREAM, WALK TOWARDS IT.*
